MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2026
Via Conca del Naviglio 10, Milan
20 – 26 April 2026
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Fratelli Boffi chooses the vibrant setting of CASAORNELLA to unveil a new narrative of living: "Animale Sociale. Nessuno mi può giudicare" (Social Animal. No one can judge me).
In this living manifesto curated by Maria Vittoria Paggini, high-end cabinetry sheds its past to become a contemporary language, immersing itself in a punk-chic atmosphere defined by bold chromatic virtuosity. Crossing the threshold of this residence means entering a domestic stage where interiors, art, and design engage in a transversal dialogue. Here, the artisanal wisdom of Fratelli Boffi becomes the heart of a story that celebrates hospitality as an art form and design as a profound emotional connection between people.
The exhibition path invites total immersion amidst material contrasts and irreverent geometries. Marquetry, the absolute protagonist, evolves from simple ornament to a design code: a play of surfaces that defines the rhythm of the space, translating master craftsmanship into a new, vibrant modernity.
An eclectic collection representing the perfect balance between innovation and formal rigor, where every detail bears witness to the excellence of timeless expertise.
Key Pieces of the Installation
Alberto Table – Design by Maria Vittoria Paggini
A project that thrives on contrasts: an elongated and irregular octagonal geometry, supported by sculptural bases that alternate the rigor of black and white with the vitality of orange. The mahogany and mirror inlaid top creates dynamic refractions, evoking the visual imagery of A Clockwork Orange.
Nocina Small Armchair – Design by Storagemilano
A cocktail icon with vibrant charm. The solid beech structure, lacquered in Sikkens turquoise, hosts a jacquard fabric seat with a palmate motif, offering a decorative note of high scenographic impact.
Gigi XVI Mosaic – Design by Ferruccio Laviani
A chromatic explosion that transforms cabinetry into mosaic art. On a solid black-stained maple structure, a vibrant texture of irregular tiles in pink ash, acid green toulipier, and cream maple comes to life. This play of material interlocking continues into the heart of the piece, revealing green toulipier interiors for a total aesthetic experience, blending artisanal rigor with visual audacity.
Matteo – Design by Maria Vittoria Paggini
A mark of pure material elegance defined by architectural volumes: the Alpi California Burl wood veneer structure dialogues with the rhythm of fluted mirrored glass and the rigor of glossy black lacquer, outlining a new and sophisticated canon for the bathroom environment.
